WILL I NEED A VISA?

You will require a visa to enter India. Emma & Louise will guide you upon booking.

IS INDIA SAFE FOR WOMEN TRAVELERS?

India has made significant strides in terms of safety for women travelers. While it is generally safe, it's important to take precautions, such as traveling in groups, avoiding isolated areas at night, and being aware of your surroundings. Be careful of your belongings and yourself in the crowded areas, as the crowds might be very dense. It's advisable to dress modestly and respect local customs and traditions. Some destinations such as temples may require specific requirements such as full-length sleeves and hems to be ankle length. As with any travel destination, it's essential to exercise common sense and follow recommended safety guidelines. As India is a developing country and can have many health issues, please do carry the basic health essentials, and also check for any travel advisories and restrictions in place, and get the necessary clearances and vaccinations before travel.

WHAT SHOULD I PACK FOR A WOMEN'S RETREAT IN INDIA?

India is very traditional and some heads will turn if you dress provocatively in public. Short tops, short skirts/shorts, tight or body-revealing clothes etc should be avoided. When packing for a women's retreat in India, it's important to consider the local culture and climate. Comfortable and modest clothing is recommended, including lightweight and breathable fabrics. We recommend packing a pair of comfortable walking shoes and sandals. It's also advisable to carry a scarf or shawl for covering shoulders or head in religious sites. Don't forget to pack sunscreen, a STRONG insect repellent, a reusable water bottle, and any necessary medications. At times, the dust/smog may be heavy, so a suggestion is to add antihistamines & eye drops to your medical kit.

WILL THERE BE YOGA & MEDITATION SESSIONS DURING THE RETREAT?

Yes, Our Wholehearted Women's Retreats in India include yoga and meditation sessions as part of the itinerary. These sessions are designed to cater to all levels, from beginners to experienced practitioners. You can expect a range of yoga styles and techniques, along with guided meditation practices, to help you relax, rejuvenate, and connect with your inner self.

WHAT VACCINATIONS DO I NEED?

You may require a few vaccinations to enter India and to protect your health while travelling there. Please speak to your GP or travel doctor about the vaccinations you require in destinations visit. Take a copy of your itinerary with you, so they know exactly where you're going. We suggest that you contact them now if you haven't already to give yourself sufficient time to organize. Medical treatment in India is inexpensive by Western standards, and has a pool of some of the best doctors in the world. Most hotels have a doctor on call. Tap water is not purified for drinking. Unless you have access to a water filter, or are sure water has been boiled, it is safer to stick to bottled water. Avoid ice in your drinks outside your hotel. Avoid ice cream or food sold by roadside vendors, uncooked or under cooked foods, fruit or vegetables that cannot be peeled. Please note that while you will be on the tour, our vehicle would have adequate mineral water supplies. Further, we recommend carrying some water bottles with you from the vehicle, when you go out for a city tour.
